Lighting at Rivets Stadium suspends team’s series finale against Kingfish
LOVES PARK, Ill. (WIFR) - The final 3 innings of the Rockford Rivets and Kenosha Kingfish series finale is postponed until Wednesday July 2 because of the stadium lights.
As the Rivets took the field to start the 7th inning, all but one of the light poles were turned on. The umpire called the game after attempts to fix the problem were unsuccessful.
This suspension came less than 24 hours after a lightning delay in the 4th inning postponed Rockford and Kenosha’s first game by almost an hour.
The Rivets have a 5-4 lead heading into the top of the 7th. Rockford hosts Kenosha at 4:35 p.m. on July 2.
Rockford heads to Michigan for a pair of games against the Royal Oaks Leprechauns. The first game will be at 6:35 p.m. Friday.
